Research Associate

Hopewell is a privately held biotechnology company based in Woburn, Massachusetts.  It was founded by Dr. Qiaobing Xu, Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Tufts University and a world-renowned leader in the application of material science engineering to biomedicine, with a focus on advancing the field of genomic medicine with leading-edge lipid nanoparticle (LNP) delivery technology.

What You Will Be Doing:

As a Research Associate, you will work closely with scientists to advance multiple aspects of our R&D programs focused on development of therapeutics for multiple disease indications. This is predominantly a laboratory/wet bench-based role and requires strong attention to details, ability to deliver quality data in a timely manner and work effectively with team members. The candidate is expected to drive the success of projects with an opportunity to learn and acquire new techniques. The candidate should be scientifically motivated, capable of conducting experiments under scientific mentoring and supervision.

 

  • Drive scientific efforts by conducting experiments alongside Scientists in the laboratory

  • Support the implementation of novel discovery platforms and assays

  • Collaborate and communicate with other team members across various functional areas

  • Assist scientists with animal procedures

  • Maintain industry-quality laboratory records, protocols, and experimental data

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

What You Need for this Position

  • BS/MS in cell/molecular biology, genetics, chemistry, or a related scientific field

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in academic or industry setting

  • Attention to detail and record keeping and a passion for accuracy and precision are highly desired

  • Effective written/verbal communication skills
